hello all - i'm new here, so i apologize in advance for anything annoying or re-hashed i'm about to write. i just feel that recommendations of rdj's work require a bit of explanation other than "this is good" since it's all so different. so here's my half-peso: SAWI - classic techno with an ambient flavor, highly influential, highly recommended, can't go wrong SAWII - also classic, but very ambient. if you're not into ambient, this ain't for you i care because... - i always found this pretty uneven. i still can't listen to "ventolin". recommended, with reservations rdj album - often frenetic, more often beautiful, good stuff. stay away if you are annoyed by drill&bass come to daddy ep, windowlicker ep - good stuff, should give you more of an idea of what rdj's up to these days polygon window "surfing on sinewaves" - can't really describe this one actually, but it's not as hard as his recent stuff - quite good afx "analogue bubblebath" - early influential techno classic - awesome subsequent "analogue bubblebath"s, caustic window stuff, etc - some of these are better than others. i would wait awhile before diving in hope that helped nub
