>>So in summation, to everyone else on the list who complained about the >>hinterlandish qualities of their home town, please... CRY ME A FUCKING >>RIVER! ;) > > They make a place for culturally oppressed people like you: New York >City! > > Or you could run away to Los Angeles, but you'd have to sell your body >there. > > - Cf When I was down in Cornwall for my hols in the summer, and after a days swimmin and surfin, charityshop scroungin & laffs & some scrum with da Cornsish folks & surfies in the Tap House pub at St. Agnes in the evening, we'd look thru the local rag to see if anythin was happening musicwise ... and we were given a choice of, ahem, Leo Sayer (the little golden whoooshy afro bloke imself, what? have they preserved him in aspic since the 70's or wot? or else Line Dancing, which seems to have caught on in a BIG way down Kernow, or else dress up in yer 70s togs for a Saturday Night Fever 70s Special night, with all the surfie pseuds in Newquay!!! errr ... so we thought we'd give da Cornish music scene a miss and stick with our own soundz back in our big wigwam of a tent, back at the campsite in Trevallas Porth ... No blinkin wonder all dem Rephlex lads zoomed up to London, as soon as they could ... Cornwall is my favourite place in all da world but the sound of the ocean and the wild, wild winds down there are waaaaay more music to my ears than anything happenin in the clubs there, dats for sure! (tho apparently they do have a Northern Soul night happenin once a month now at The Bowgie, wouldn't have minded catchin that, I like a bit o Sweet Soul Music, and twould have been wicked to see if there were any top Northern Soul dancers there too, whether Kernow lads can hack it Wigan styleee! yehhhhhh, 'Keep The Faith'! ) Aless
