I've just seen that Gescom are doing a 3 hour set at Schizm on 5/12/98. I hope this is a 'proper' performance unlike that concept-minidisc thing they did at Manchester Cathedral in September as part of 'In The City' - it was _sooo_ bad. I was off-list at the time - did anyone post about this? Six or seven blokes in lab coats, with bandages round their faces so you couldn't see who they were, came on and set up a minidisc (R30) each with one bloke in the middle on a mixing desk. He mixed the input from each minidisc (obviously). The result - an utterly chaotic mess of sound that I thought was quite funny to begin with but it went on and on. Continued spewing forth total crap including snippets of dialogue and well known songs like Oasis looping ("today...today..today..." etc.) - but not in time. Minutes really did seem like hours as I sat on the uncomfortable church chairs. Luke Vibert and Mr. Hawtin saved the day, however. But that was all months ago... Nick
