Before the whole robert jones thing started to go off ( wow, I thought I was in some tourette's syndrome nightmare! ), I saw the post requesting ops on NWW releases. Most of the responses cited the releases other than: >>> The Sadness of Things: on United Dairies, a Stapleton release but *not* a NWW release. A great find and I would believe at this point rare, OP? I've traveled to stores around the US and find it very rarely. A slow and ( hence the title ) sad recording. Peaceful, dark, beautiful and brilliantly unpretentious. Its hard to find melancholy music that isn't pretentious and/or contrived. Stapleton has suceeded with this release. While certainly not IDM, it's great that posts like this come up as it shows us sides of musical taste that go beyond ( or at least *around* IDM ). Not that the MAS, SKAM, BOC, VVM threads are'nt exciting lately. Anyone else out there think that the VVM Christmas 7" still sounds good after Christmas? That one's a year round player fer me. np: Solar X , Kalashnikov Bullet Bath EP ( Russian techno? ) diggin' it... xxxx@xxxxxxxxx.xxx Peter Becker: * Distribution Manager for U.S.A. , Canada, Australia, New Zealand* *DJ Pool Honcho* * Demo Tape Filter* Asphodel - PO Box 51, Chelsea Station, NY NY 10113 Ph: (212) 604-9362, FAX: (212)604-0783, http://www.asphodel.com
