Did anyone listened to new signing to the Pork Recordings, called Akotcha ? I did, it's brilliant piece of work. I think this is their debut, 'Sound Burger' (pork 047CD , 1997). If you loved this year's Reflection "Errornormous World" , Luke Vibert "Big Soup", Uriel "Under Compulsion" or As One "Planetary Folklore" you're really like this one. Hey, there is even one track called 'Spy Movie' on it. A must have, 'little night music for all you night owls out there'. Every single track on CD is a gemm, specially 'Kobayashi Maru' , that I play when I DJ along with Push Button Objects "Trot" and Wagon Christ "Throbbing Puch" track. So, you get the point what is all about ? It's all about jazz, but some of you call it techno. :-) Can anyone give me some more information on Akotcha ? I really love all of Pork's output that I have, and I don't know why it isn't discussed here. I have 9 Pork CDs and all of them are exellent, specially : Fila Brazillia "Luck be a wierdo tonight" and Bullitnuts "Roast" Let's see some of your favourite Prok slices.... bok (meaning bye on Croatian) rob IMO if you were there originally and appreciated the stuff when it came out with the Zeitgeist of the time, then it will always hold a special place in your heart. On the other hand, if you come to it later as a newcomer, you may still appreciate its musicality or originality *for its time* but you may never truly live that music or have it engrained into your bloodstream the way you will with music that forms part of your growing and evolving experience. .........by IreneMcC
