I like Panasonic (admittedly, the "lack of music" which you profess to be
a bad thing is what I like about them). But comparing Panasonic to EN is,
well, heresy.
I could make detailed arguments, but I will not, because I'm tired.
Suffice it to say that Einsturzende Neubauten, in their prime (Drawings of
a Patient OT, Kollaps, Strategies Against Architecture, etc.) went far
beyond being a 'band,' or 'musicians;' they were a fucking force of
nature, unequalled before or since. Except maybe the Rite of Spring. But
that was in the early 1900s.

Nowadays (Tabula Rasa, Ende Neu, etc) they are merely one of the finest
bands in existence. Their period of transcendence has passed, but that
doesn't mean they can't still write some incredible music.

And funny this should come up, because I just walked in the door with my
brand new copy of the '2x4' reissue, purchased for $6.99. I also got
Black Dog - Spanners new for $5 and the first two tracks were so awful I
almost puked and was forced to quickly replace the disc with some nurse
with wound, PJ Harvey, and miscellaneous Wordsound records. I'll listen
to the rest of it some other time.
