Hi,

I do not know what material it is made of, but I have successfully repaired=
 a few old plastic=20
synths and drum machines using Loctite Repair Putty. You just knead a small=
 piece of it,=20
apply and form into shape and then you can drill/thread whatever in it when=
 it is dry.=20

Old ESQ-1s have a tendency to have the plastic screw mounts for the front p=
late shear=20
off for instance.=20

Subject: [AH] E-mu SP-12 Lid Material?

Hi all,

Wondering if anybody here knows what the front plate/lid of an SP-12
is made of. The reason being that mine is turning to powder around the
three screw holes at the back above the vents where it connects to the
metal underplate and two of the screws barely stay in any more. They
are self-tapping, so seemingly have just worn out the holes through
vibration, and being removed and replaced too many times. I also have
a chunk knocked out of the rear of the unit that could do with gluing
back on. Never bothered because i didn't want to try superglue or
something just in case it went horribly wrong.

I thought maybe forming little tubes from Sugru might work to give a
new surface for the screws to grip onto.

Any ideas appreciated.

Thanks.
