jesus christ, ct -- did your girlfriend dump you last nite or something?
i haven't seen such an outpouring of bile on this list since trent
reznor bought the us rights to the warp catalog.
as someone who makes a living writing about music (and, incidentally, as
a former card-carrying shop steward with the united auto workers of
america), lemme just say that yeah, i expect to get fairly compensated
when i write for a publication that's making money off my labor. but i'm
also aware that plenty of publications i write for only got off the
ground because there were a lot of eager writers willing to donate their
work until the magazine/newspaper became a viable concern (at which
point they had every right to demand remuneration).
also, there are plenty of publications that _never_ make money, and only
exist because the people who produce it are in love with the idea of
communicating their enthusiasms to others. i wish i was still young and
idealistic enough to pour my energies into something like that, but i
sure don't resent those who are. why do you?
go piss on someone else's parade.
