terre thaemlitz was brought up in relation to gender (drews post, which i read at like 4am :) just wanted to let folks know that there is a pretty in depth article on him in the new wire. he is the cover story. i have not finished reading the article yet (it may be a little too in depth) -- but, for those of you who are not familiar with terre -- he deals quite a bit with gender issues and the denaturualization (is that the word he uses?) of gender in society by taking gender out of the normal context. the music terre writes, as he says, is a reflection of his perspective on gender -- that is, he is removing sounds from their normal context.. kinda like cross dressing with music. i dont know. figured folks might be interested. i personally find gender issues very interesting, but over generalizations very insulting.. so this is a love/hate thread for me. also, someone recently did an interview with wendy (windy?) carlos. is this transcribed anywhere? chris. .crz__ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ music, four lunchpails: wednesdays 7-8pm kuci 88.9fm www.kuci.org "chicks dig laptops"
