I talked to Gerald when he was touring (as a DJ) with Tricky early in '97. Aquarius Rising wasn't finished but he did play the title track during his set, which features Lady Miss Kier. Don't worry - it wasn't pop music but harder d&b than his previous album, with spiritual soul-jazz vocals from the Deee-lite singer. The album will also feature vocals from Lamb's Louise Rhodes and Gerald's brother David (who sang "Life Unfolds His Mystery" on Black Secret Technology). Since then Gerald's "The Green Stinky Mix" of Tricky's "Piano" on Makes Me Wanna Die was released in April 97, as were a couple of remixes for Finley Quaye (who did an earlier version of "Sunday Shining" with Gerald in 1994/5 called "Finley's Rainbow"). In March of this year Gerald released a single on his Juice Box label, Radar System. There was a label compilation announced from Juice Box but it wasn't released as far as I know. One funny thing that came up in my interview with him was that when he was working with 808 State (or when they were ripping off his tune "Pacific State") they had said that they wouldn't work with breakbeats. Once the situation between them worsened he did a new hardcore version called "Specific Hate". What is ironic is that for their new singles album 808 State have done a new version themselves with breaks. CT >But Gerald is definately working on the album. I read somewhere that he >was producing some tracks with Deelite's female vocalist, but if these >will be on an eventual new album beats me. >
