Spring Heel Jack is 2 different groups. However, I think it'd be
interesting
to see someone exploring drum'n'bass and ska....or maybe even trying to
synthesize them. Granted, I'm not a big ska fan, and it might turn out to
be
crap, but if someone were to do this, I'd at least like to hear it.

This is interesting, because the first time I heard the D'n'B Spring Heel
Jack was their "Lee Perry" single, which samples an early ska track by
(funnily enough) Lee Perry, called "What is This?". Ok so its actually at
the point where ska was getting slowed down somewhat into the
rocksteady/reggae rhythm but its close. There was once a track by Longsy D
called "This is Ska" at the height of the aciiid phenomena in the UK, which
was a mixture of Acid House and Ska, which was more obviously ska and a lot
of fun. It was also definately dance music altho'n whether y'could tag it
as "Intelligent" is another matter.
