Concept on this record applied is the length of the tracks being same as Clashs I'm so bored with the u.s.a. With it's content it has much in same with the previous releases. More song like tracks by i.e. Jake Mandell and Passarani 2099 featuring distorted breaks and smooth melodies are varied by the most strange sample sound scapes and tracks. Other artists include Suetsu & Underwood, Felix Kubin, Office Products, Vengloss Advocaat and others. For adventurous ears only. Pan American/Ad Vanz - Both Ends Fixed - 12" - Fatcat Records - 12fat023 The Fatcat people moved up to an own office, taking up the fast release schedule once again. This platter is the third in the Split Series, presented by Dave Howell. Episode 5 is for Janek Schaeffer, presenting his first full-scale release to date. Five sound collages of experimental noise, processed through "Schaeffer's custom-built 'tri-phonic' turntable (a bi-directional, ultra vari-speed, 3 tone-arm deck)". Pan American is the solo project of Mark Nelson of Labradford, delivering a long warm smooth track. Mostly in style towards minimal downtempo stuff. Bola - Soup - LP - Skam - skalp02 After the well recieved release of the Boards of Canada album, Manchester' Skam comes up with their second solo album release. Darrell Fitton has been on board since the beginning of the label, conspiring on the first Gescom release, just after his tracks on Warp's Artificial Intelligence II release. As Bola he already did a 12 and 7" for the label. Soup is his warm full length debut, with ten tracks including the fine Forcasa 3. Much attention is payed on the tracks to the melodies, mostly sweet and smooth. Accomponied by the easily flowing beats, most songs turn up to be diamonds of their own.
