I bought this disc at the weekend and I'm really enjoying it. Their set at the Big Chill Enchanted Garden was excellent, and sitting in the garden yesterday with this disc on the Walkbeast brought it all back. Instrumental are a string sextet (with occasional flute) who do versions of techno/ambient classics. They manage to do this in a non-cheesy way (unlike what I've heard of the Acid Brass that came out a couple of years back), so you end up with some quite haunting tracks with familiar melodies and a chamber music feel. If you've heard their verion of Oxbow Lakes on the Orb single, you'll have a good idea of the sound. I'm also reminded of the Philip Glass orchestrated version of Aphex's Icct Hedral. All in all, a very satisfying release. Tracks on the album include Forever (Orbital), Little Fluffy Clouds (Orb, also featured on the upcoming Big Chill comp), Smokebelch (Sabres of Paradise) and Consume (Plastikman). It's on the Big Chill label, cat no FACTOR 1. Paddy
