-----the missing link between IDM and 70's jazz fusion wank -------- As long as we're discussing 70's jazz fusion and its relevance/presence in the work of today's artists, I realized the following just recently (and forgive me if this has been discussed before): On Plaid's "Not For Threes" (1997), track 14, "Forever" steals the melody from the very beginning of "Medieval Overture" by Chick Corea...this being the very first track on Return To Forever's "Romantic Warrior" (1976) album. I jest you not...give the two tracks (songs?) a listen...that is, if you are an odd enough freek to somehow have both somewhere in your collection (I am, apparently). And the fact that the track is called "Forever" - pretty much a dead giveaway.
