Sorry for the delay in getting these out. Here are a few more reviews for you... . Solvent: s/t cd (Suction 003) Remember when you first heard all the classic Rephlex stuff?=20 Remember the chills you got when you heard that lovely=20 crunchy distortion mixed with the light haunting melodies and=20 odd samples? Prepare to feel that way again when you listen=20 to this cd. Thirteen tracks of absolutely stunning melody- infused electro that reminds me of classic Aphex Twin,=20 Kinestheasia and =B5-ziq mixed with a little Octagon Man &=20 I-f. It's hard to pick some favorites on this cd because all the=20 tracks are so good but probably the ghosted melodies over light polyrhtyhms of Pineapple Boy, the minimal squelches &=20 vocoder samples of Nervous, and the carnival meets electro=20 sound of Googly Eyes are my favorites. This one will definitely=20 be one of the IDM releases of the year. A must buy for fans of=20 classic Aphex Twin, Kinestheasia and =B5-ziq. 10/10 . Counter Plan: 90=B0 12" (Soma) The Slam boys resurface with a beautiful ep on Soma, this time under their Counter Plan guise. The ep starts with 90=B0, which is a hot 4/4 deep houser with a very funky bassline and lush synth=20 drops. The a2 is the DJ Q remix of 90=B0. DJQ beefs up the=20 percussion & bassline, switched the lush synth drops for mono- tones, and throws in some nice filtery effects giving this one more=20 of a minimal house flavor. The b1 is a latenight downtempo deep=20 houser with lush melodies and a slow shuffle beat. The ep finishes with a percussive disco-house track. This track features a classic filtered & looped disco sample over driving 4/4 percussion. This is an outstanding ep for those who like deep, driving tech-house.=20 Fans of DJ Q, Herbert, Charles Webster, Daft Punk and a more=20 polished KDJ or Theo Parrish should check this one out. This will=20 be one of my tops of 98! 10/10 . Parallel(=3D): Statik 12" (Gadgets) Maus & Stolle deliver another minimal techno gem on their own Gadgets label. This one, under their Parallel(=3D) guise, features=20 two tracks of deep dubby heavily filtered techno and one off-kilter experimental track all true to the style of their earlier releases on=20 Klang Electronik and Gadgets. Fans of the Chain Reaction, Traktor,=20 Dynamo, or V/A sound will know what to expect on this Maus &=20 Stolle release. These two producers continue to deliver. 8/10 . Boo Williams: The Mortal Trance 12" (Residual) The second ep on Titonton's new Residual label sees Boo Williams=20 dishing out some classic deep percussive house. All three tracks=20 feature smooth synths of pounding 4/4 percussion but each track=20 add a little something different: the a1 with it's muted bassline=20 and dueling synth/xylaphone melodies, the b1 with a looped &=20 muted synth, and the b2 with a squelchy acid line - all over the=20 lush melodies. This ep doesn't break any new ground but who=20 cares. It's just three tracks of engaging deep house. Simply enjoy=20 it, i do. 8/10 . Senking: s/t cd (Karaoke Kalk) The first cd on the Karaoke Kalk label culls tracks from several=20 of the earlier Kandis & Senking eps plus a few new tracks. The=20 styles represented on these eight tracks ranges from deep melodic=20 ambient tracks to deep bleepy experimental tracks to the closing=20 deep bassy gurgling basic channel/chain reaction-esque track.=20 Overall this cd is an journey through deep looped electronica.=20 Fans of some of the more experimental Profan, Basic Channel, and Harvest releases should take note of this one. 8/10 BTW: Don't forget our Inaudible netcast every Wednesday from 9-11 pm Eastern Standard Time.
