got squarepusher - budakhan mindphone, jega - spectrum, and sonar -
overdose simulation records in the mail today... hate to be constantly
negative but neither of the first two was very special - squarepusher is
just pretty dull (with one or two nice tracks) - never heard the last
record, but this has a lot of wankified bass grooves, very little spastic
percussion, and more odd noises than what I've heard - and jega was fun
but there wasn't a single new idea (and way too many cliches) on the
entire record. I'll keep my promo but I wouldn't pay for it.

On a more positive note, the sonar record is great if you like it very
very noisy and very very minimal. ant-zen power noise etc. also of note,
the Klangstabil 12" released on Hymen/ant-zen recently is pretty nice;
rough and crunchy drum and bass, sorta. not half so noisy as Sonar.

other things I heard recently that were nice - burger/ink (I know I
trashed it earlier but I've grown to like it a bit), an old novamute comp
(1.1) with things like a mauritzio mix of vainqueur and plastikman etc..

oh yeah and the autechre peel sessions and pole cd1 and cd2 are
fantabulous. but you probably already knew that.
