I just picked up an art 'zine called Frieze with a 3" CD attached to the cover - There is a Merzbow cut, and 2 others on it. Nice article on the underground noise scene in Japan. They talk about the 20000V Club and some of the people involved with the 'scene'. I can not speak for the 'Tokyo' release, but if it is anything like this mini-CD, it is the next step in the evolution of noise music. Very loud - grating irritating - unnerving - punishing - painful - beauty. Intelligent - yes Dance - no - (well, YMMV) Music - ? I'm looking forward to mixing it into a set one day.
