>Heh - I've found some really bizzare ways of lumping things together >here. One of the better local places puts just about everything decent >under "Trance" - Incl. things like Sqrpsr. They do have a jungle section >mind you, home to Metalheadz and the like. > >My fave shop, sadly closing, just used to put everything worth looking >at in a "Progressive Dance" section. > heh, my local small record shop (who used to have the most amazing idm/techno/trance/etc. section around used to just lump everything under "imports/rarities" so people were being forced to pay like $20 for domestic releases that were just hard to find elsewhere. Luckily they also had an amazing used section with lots of idm and electronic stuff for like $5. . so I bet you all can guess where I spent all my time :) Its kinda funny that one of the biggest retail chains around now has one of the best idm/techno selections here. Virgin Megastore (In Burbank for those of you in Southern California) has an pretty good selection of stuff . . Found Mike & Rich for $3.99 and a couple of Autechre disks (full length) for like $6.00 each. . sometimes their prices are high but you can find a deal if you look hard enough. . .and a pretty nice selection of stuff Oh yeah, while im on the subject of shops. . if your into vinyl, <plug> check out Dr. Freeclouds in Costa Mesa. . very good selection of techno, jungle, ambient, trance, some idm on vinyl. . one of the very few shops around that is almost strictly vinyl. . .and if i remember correctly it is run by Simply Jeff and Ron D. Core (who put out some pretty interesting stuff). . .I believe they have a webpage at www.drfreeclouds.com but don't quote me on that. . .</plug> Ok enough from me. . have a nice new year all. . sorry for getting a tiny bit off subject :) Jeff Bailey Support Operations Center EarthLink Networks, Inc. voice: 626.296.3017 email: xxxxxxx@xxxxxxxxx.xxx "Dont try any of your cow hypnosis on me, cuz it ain't gonna work"
