bill, those who care - what yer after here is the two disc/12" release of "Don't Die Just Yet," the last track on Let's Go Get Killed, attributed in the liner notes to Serge Gainsbourg, the famed French... umm... musician from the 60's. Go Beat! GOBCD6 (569 289-2) has your Magwai mix, among others, which I recall as pretty decent. also an alternate mix from Holmes called "Don't Chant Just Yet" (has a little rougher edge to it), and also the Arab Strap and Dakota mixes. Go Beat! GOBCD6 (569 291-2) has the La Funk Mob mix (nothing overwhelming, but nice a laid back) and the Max404 mix, which is da f*ckin' bomb, if lushy jazzy horn and guitar sounds over a warm house beat is your thing (akin to Ibbotson, but maybe with a fuller sound). and it's nice and long, too. these were pressed in the UK only, so to get them...? try www.juno.co.uk. mail 'em if they don't list it in their inventory 'cos they should still be able to get them. or maybe www.action-records.co.uk? or, hell, just start at www.gemm.com and go from there. ok, done playing "Lance" for now. cheers all. daevid j btw, for those who don't have it and are tempted, _don't_ rush out to get This Film's Crap. it's all right, but certainly not great and not on par with Get Killed. if anything, get the ep for "Gone," probably the best track on the record, and that way at least you'll get the Kruder + Dorfmeister rmx. >From: bill wright <xxxxxxx@xxxxxxx.xxx> >Subject: Re: (idm) david holmes > >Anyone know where I can get this: > > Don't Die Just Yet > Remix of the David Holmes version of the Serge Gainsbourg song. > >Apparently there is a remix by Mogwai (I belive the other side is by Arab >Strap), which has a sample from one of my favorite bands (Slint) and I >would like to hear it. Can anyone offer help? "I want more life, f*cker." - Roy Batty, circa 2019 ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
