Will Global Communication please stand up ?
There seems to be a slight lack of *communication* here ...

Are these Messrs. Middleton & Pritchard aka Jedi Knights?
Henceforth to be known as J-Knights, apparently?

What gives? I have bought a CD which pleases me enormously,
but for a while there I was totally lost in space as to who or what
this was. It now transpires that what I'm looking at is Global
Communication's "76:14". Does this title refer to its running time?
On my Marantz it shows up as 76:17 [nevermind, this is a small
matter...]

What I'm curious about is : along the spine of this CD all I can see
is "Dedicated" and a catalogue number and - ? - er, some morse
code dots and stripes. What is it with Morse? As in Coldcut's
Timber, suddenly these bleeps and bloops seem to be in fashion.

For those of us unfamiliar with what must be said to be an uncommon
means of communication, this does _not_ instantly spell out "GLOBAL
COMMUNICATION". Nor does the ear-shaped coverart GC help very much
for the uninitiated. Hey - I'm in South Africa, dammit. I'm not
exposed to the teaser campaign that might have alerted me to this
logo in the past.

Then, once arrived at the folded out inside of the sleeve, we are
confronted by a series of numbers... somewhere in the shadowy
recesses there lurks "76:14". Jeez [sigh] talk about arcane.

Slap on the CD however, and this is just simply *the* most gorgeous
sweeping soundscape ever ever. Overawed with warm one-ness
and glowy gratitude to the makers of all this beauty, I carefully
read ALL the small print and see that I am urged to "interact now".

! ::: hey yeah, I would love to swamp you with "poetry, scupture,
recipes and aromas" (NOT !!! ) if only you'd plug into the world's,
er... may I call it "global communication" network provided by the
internet :-) Here is only a c/o Dedicated paper post snail mail
address. Are we out of touch?

Oh - and to display my TOTAL ignorance:
what does "ob - selon mi - nos" mean?

Carping aside ~~ I really LOVE this album.
