I've got one of their records, 'The Curtain Hits the Cast'. I picked it up after hearing their name mentioned in one of the 'ambient guitar' threads on the ambient list. I was initially expecting a shoegazer(esque, at least)-type thing, but on this release the sound is ambient /acoustic/ guitar. The songs are almost entirely slow, many times beatless pieces of floating acoustic guitar and half-spoken vocals. Some of the tracks do build on the elements to add minimal rhythm (the picture of a lone snare drum on the cover of the album sums up their approach). It's actually quite good- well done guitar/vocal music with ambient(esque, at least) production. It seems that their other releases are probably not as sparse.. I seem to recall their earlier material compared to Slowdive's last couple of releases. At any rate, the forthcoming remix project looks very interesting. A great surprise.. thanks for the info, Lance. Brad Shelton xxxxxxxx@xxx.xxx
