Sorry I've been so quite, things have been off the hook out here. After having nico (plus the occasional stray londoners) here for three months, we finally got him to go home and get some shit done. It looks like that's the case already. There seems to be a steady stream of tunes flying out the door of the Metrostore. Yesterday, there were 5 tracks being made at the same time in different parts of the building! As for the '99 release schedule, it's still being sorted out. Fergus, the youngest brother Quinn, has finished the cover art for NUT 021 (Cells RMX/Caves) and from what I've heard, it's a beauty. Big up to the plainclothesman! It should be out soon. NUT 022 is going to be 'We Enter' Optical RMX. I have no clue what the flip's going to be. Also, I think there are 5 or 6 different mixes of this, with 3 of them being of drastically different styles. Unfortunately, the dat I listened to didn't have any track listing, so I'm just assuming they were all optical remixes, but a few might have been Ryme Tyme reworks. I'll post more about this when I find out what the deal is. In all honesty, the mix that nico was feeling, I wasn't...and vise versa. The one he likes is almost intelligent and poppy. The one that I'm into is the same one fierce has been dropping, a bit more on nasty tip! NUT 023 - 'Tripwire' by Fierce : This tune is one that Nico, Fierce and Davis did in the mothership the day after Nick got back from LA. >From what I've heard, plates have been cut and this one's a smasher. Strictly new style business. As for the flip, it's not decided yet but will be soon, since young dan's been working his ass off, learning how to do engineering duty! Also, I forgot to mention this, but d&b arena reported a while back that Ben and Matt were doing the 'killer bee's' remix. Actually Fierce was the one asked to do the redux and he wants to do it with Optical. NNU 2009 - 'Nostromo' / 'Sphere' by Deep Rooted : This one's been out on test press for a while but I think the proper release is due out soon. Both sides are wicked, with Nostromo being a bit nastier. NNU 2010 - '20/20' / 'Vision' by Hidden Face : Haven't heard this one yet. Last but not least, Bev, who's been the No U Turn/Saigon office manager/den mother for the last 4 years, has started up here own booking company, Break Point Management. The artist she's currently got on her roster are: Fierce, Ryme Tyme, Dom, Trace, Deep Rooted, JayJay, Usual Suspects, Dj Lee, Dj Reality, Ed Real and Curry. More info can be found at: http://www.break-point.com/ It looks like 1999 is going to be one hell of an interesting year! word to the mothership, brockout. ps. Nico's finally made the leap and bought a high end laptop. Now he can retire that crusty old atari! I'm hoping he gets his shit together and starts doing some live stuff!
