When magazines do interviews they often send reporters out with crappy cassette decks with bad microphones, and then they have underpaid interns transcribe the interviews. Without careful editing and fact checking afterwards, you end up with lots of errors. For the pinnacle of this style of sloppiness check any interviews in Grand Royal.
