Obviously it's 'supposed to be like this', but I think there are more ways that just this to use the WARP back catalogue. They left a lot of great stuff off there, but not in order to create a specific feel to the tape, just because that was probably their favourite selection. Which is fair enough, it's just I don't agree with their favourite selection, and I don't think they've mixed up what they think to be the best records on WARP in a way that makes me enjoy their selection any more. Surely the idea of a mix tape isn't just to 'showcase music', otherwise why mix it at all (besides saving tape space?). The idea (for me) is partly to do this, but also to create something in it's own right, which I don't think this tape does... Maybe I was just dissapointed because of the quality of releases they had to work with... Gb.
