>>Here's a good example of what I mean: indie rockers. Indie rockers will >>praise (the now terrible) June of 44 forever. They will never give two >>shits about Fushitsusha b/c they don't have the hype. They will never >>give two shits about Pearl Jam because they were on MTV. Your average >>Aphex/Autechre listener is the same way - no Chemical Brothers, Prodigy, >>or No-U-Turn. >Bollocks, bollocks, bollocks. That's narrowminded and uncalled for. >Plenty of people on this list are into No-U-Turn (I think they're >alright, but sometimes overhyped) >Plenty of people on this list are into Prodigy (Don't like the new stuff >as much as the old) >Plenty of people on this list are into Chemical Brothers (Never liked >them much, still don't) I love dealing with idiots who post their replies without actually reading the entire post. Look, fool: I explicitly spelled out in my original message (which means either that you didn't read it and are thus a jackass, or you missed it, in which case you have the reading comprehension of an ant) IDM READERS ARE NOT YOUR AVERAGE APHEX FANS. If so many Aphex/Autechre fans listen to No-U-Turn, why does Aphex sell 50-100 thousand copies, and No-U-Turn can't sell out editions of 2000? Your average Aphex fan just doesn't have the time/inclination to look beyond the "big names" (I know plenty of these people) of Autechre, and (as I said) maybe plug/mu-ziq/black dog.
