Speaking of annoying marketing ploys...

Last time I was in Tower Records here on South Street (hopefully
_the_ last time I will set foot in said store), attempting to browse
through the electronic section on the first floor.
Unfortunatly, the continuous assault of bombastic
alternagrungespeedmetalnoise over the club-style sound system made me
run screaming for the second floor jazz/world section, hoping to hear
some soothing Blue Note recordings.
Instead, I was treated to a record of - wait for it - Teletubbies.
Teletubby music.
Teletubby narration.
Teletubby giggles, gurgles, and squeaks.
I never even knew what a Teletubby was, blissful in my ignorance, but
after hearing this Teletubby orgy, I immediately abandoned the store,
scowling at the employees on the way out.
Needless to say, I bought no records there.
Went to Digital Underground instead.
