quoth William Van Loo <xxxxxxxx@xxxxxx.xxx> >ObIDM: Speedy J's "Public Energy #1" still rocks my world. Anybody got a >copy of the new Novamute 12"? Reviews? yeah, i've got "IEEE mitten menu". the two mixes of the title track are a bit disappointing... fairly straightforward harsh techno with quite irritating treated voice-samples. the b-side, "fart essen", is much better - reminds me of (the track) "public energy". rather on the short side, though. oh well, let's hope the album'll be better. on a related note, i recently found a 12" with a speedy j mix: the micronauts - "the jag"/"the jag (speedy j mix)" (QEDTDJX7 - but the run-out groove just says QEDT 7) no idea what label it is. i know the micronauts had a 12" on the phono label (PHONO 6) including a daft punk remix - i believe the micronauts are french. the original is some kind of wierd house with more annoying vocal samples, but gets nicely quirky on the last half. speedy j transforms it into one of his harsh techno tracks - similar to the above mentioned ep actually, although more interesting. not too shabby. hs _________________ colour is opinion
