I know they have vocals (and yes they mostly sing in German), and yes they use 'real' instruments (loud guitars sometimes! yikes!) and i know a lot of people on this list try to deny anything with vocals or guitars , or pretend they never liked anything with vocals or guitars ..... probably some kind of self-denial due to all those Nirvana and Pearl Jam albums out there ;-) Ende Neu (their most recent album) does not suck because : Stella Maris is one of the most haunting songs ive ever heard with an incredible vocal duet between Blixa Bargeld and Meret Becker. It also has a string section (a real one) which makes me melt. Die explosion in Festspeilhaus features a 'pencil solo' which pans marvellously from left to right and back again, some marvellous organs and a womens choir. NNNAAAMMM is probably one of the best songs in 9/4 time i have ever heard, btw the remixes of this song SUCK Ende Neu : the song structure is very appealing as towards the end as the song shifts from verse to chorus and back, the verse keeps getting a bar shorter everytime, which is done with expert (live) precision and builds tension incredibly.. The words are good too. all the other songs on the album 'rock' too as does the album Tabula Rasa but i cant be bother to write anymore as i dont think anyone is listening... maybe a few... also Einsturzende Neubauten means Collapsing New Buildings which is a wonderful name If you like strange electroacoustical industrial experimental or just good music i suggest you buy Ende Neu tommorrow, i think this was in my top five albums i listened to last year. Einsturzende Neubauten have a great deal of experience (and years) in making the music they do, and it shows when they can produce an album as 'mature' as this which still endlessly innovates and surprises... hmm dont let the word 'Mature' put you off though.... my two pennies Steve /k/./F/ The Church Of England :- Killing Foreigners for Profit and Jesus
