Its a really nice instrument and generally holds up well to the real 101. But.. there is one thing that got me. The only really big difference (for me) is that the LFO noise source is really off. One of my favourite 101 sounds I produce by modulating filter with the LFO at 100% and the filter 100% with the envelope (0 Attack, 100% Decay, 0 sustain, 0 release). The Filter is at 100% resonance and 0 cutoff. The LFO is the 101's succulent noise. On the real 101, you get this sizzling sound that continuously evolves with the decay of the envelope. Its the kind of sound that can trigger tension or an ominous feeling. Its very rich in artifacts all over the audible spectrum. This does not, at all, sound this way on the 01a. I can get really close but the magic isn't there. Other than that, everything works really nicely. The reason I care so much is that the 01a is now my live 101 so I do care about how close they sound.
