speaking of this album, i've been listening to it alot
lately. it really is quite good...not so much in it's
musical complexity but more in it's mindset.
its not an album i would sit and analyze (i will if
anyone is interested), but when played, it kinda has
a way of evoking images of post-millennial urban
landscapes and the like. needless to say, the overall
feel is 'soothing', but not in the ambient sense. it
has this optimistic (and please don't confuse this
with 'happy') mood throughout - even in the darker
tunes, perhaps gained through the periodic juxtaposition
of simultaneous major and minor key melodies....often
occurring in the rhythmic elements as well as the
melodic. also, the album does display multiple facets
of the dnb spectrum and it does it fairly well.
if anyone is interested in a tune by tune review (if it
hasn't been presented already) let me know.
