I was also at the Karoli/Suzuki show and stayed through almost all of the second set. I would have to disagree with the general consensus of the list members who attended about it not being a good show. First of all, from my understanding, this was not a Can show. It was a Damo Suzuki Band show w/ Michael Karoli as guest. Even if it had been the original line-up, would you expect vintage '71-'74 Can? And if all of you were, why are you complaining? I think this line-up probably sounded closer to early Can than a full reunion line-up would have. Has anybody heard "Rite Time", their most recent "reunion" album? Yes some of it was tired rock, yes Karoli was stoned , and after the break I imagine pretty looped too (It looked like someone was feeding him Jagermeister shots to chase with his beer), but there were some stretches where it went beyond my expectations. The later half of the first set and midway through the second (especially the "mother sky" parts) were groovy as all hell. Their set was also completely improvised as well. Mark Speybey's contributions during the second set were pretty interesting as well. Let's just say that i wasn't expecting my night to possibly get any better after finding a vinyl copy of the Solaris soundtrack, but it did. I'm sure glad I made the trip. david *+* on now: Plastikman-artifakts (bc) .................................................................. . record sale page: techno, industrial, indie, ambient, avant . . cd sale page metabolist . . http://home.connectnet.com/lotus/ . ..................................................................
