yes, boc just played chicago last week, and while the first movement was
promising, the remainder of the piece felt way too flat. i am thinking that
perhaps they didn't use enough of the arrangements that the ensemble would
have allowed them to pursue. it just felt like a transcription for its own
sake, with nothing substantially added or taken away. their original works
were much more entertaining.
