at one point, Seven was dead-set on licensing Bisk's "Strange or Funny Ha-Ha= "=20 from Sub Rosa for a US/vinyl release. i guess that never happened. but it's=20 no surprise to hear of some other joint venture between the Florida crew and=20 Fujikawa-san.=20 re: CF while the "Hotel Paral.lel" vs. "Plays" debate rages, no one has mentioned=20 Fennesz' great "Ex Libro Mio" 3" yet. or his untitled contribution to the=20 "Picknick Mit Hermann" CD on Rhiz - maybe my favorite single Fennesz piece -=20 or his wicked DJ Pure remix on Sub/Version. or the fact that Jim O'Rourke's=20 Moikai label will be reissuing the awesome "Instrument" 12" on CD - probably=20 with extra material. or the Di-n mini-LP, a Fennesz-Harding-Rehberg=20 performance that benefits immeasurably from his presence (as straight Pita=20 tends to lack something that Fennesz has to offer in spades). a little price= y=20 for a one-sided/21min track, but the quality of the pressing and chic matte=20 sleeve justify the cost. something of a teaser for Touch's eagerly=20 anticipated/long-delayed release of the Fenn-O-Berg CD... Fennesz fiends also NEED to hear the improvised duet between guitarist Noel=20 Akchot=E9 and Joel Ryan (computer) on the Parker/Akchot=E9/Casserley/Ryan - = Live=20 at "Les Instants Chavir=E9s" CD on Leo. very possibly the greatest and most=20 overlooked release of 1998. "Plays," schmays... the Akchot=E9/Ryan improv is=20 DSP's finest moment. run, don't walk, as the man said... mr. e. now on: haunted house: up in flames (erstwhile)=20 - devastating! roll over, Haino. enter Loren MazzaCane Connors, the Blue=20 Fire.=20 =20
