_Passion_: In one word, brilliant. This is possibly the most successful
melding of "Third World" sounds and rhythms into an electronic environment
ever made. It certainly puts all those crappy ethnotechno tracks to shame
(think Transglobal Underground, or worse yet, Deep Forest.) The level of
empathy and understanding for the music that was sampled never ceases to
amaze me.

As a companion piece, _Passion Sources_, which plays the songs that were
sampled for _Passion_ in their unadulterated forms, is an invaluable
insight into just how successful Gabriel's work really was.

OK, enough gushing. Back to Aphex.
