V/Vm Pig review...

. V/Vm Pig 7"
The first side of this luscious piece of pink porky vinyl starts with a recorded conversation between two englishmen about pig farming. That conversation then fades into what sounds like an actual pig slaughter - frantic squeals that slowly fade as the life drains from the pig - which really upset my dog when i was playing it. After several minutes a hellacious chorus of hundreds of pig squeals & grunts develops into a short track utilizing nothing but those pig noises. The entire flip side of this 7" is a recording of what sounds like a crowded slaughterhouse - scores of squealing, grunting, and unwholsome/ unsettling noises that seem to grow in intensity with each second. This ep definitely earns it's name for without the pigs there would be almost nothing to this release. I'd love to play this record for an animal activist. It would really freak them out. Acutally, it freaks me out too! You'll never look at Babe the same way.

Havent had time to fully digest the V/Vm Machine componets #1-4 yet so that review coming later. But suffice to say, noisey sonic experimentations is the flavor of the lot. Every track has a full sound on it's own. I imagine mixing several different machine components together at once would produce a dense wall of sound. It will be very interesting to see what people assemble with these.
