I personally think the new Underworld is fucking great. With all the big beat and sample crazy bullshit going on in most popular electronic music, this cd sounds like a breath of fresh air. Yes, they still use the conventional 4/4 time signature that they've always done, but I don't necessarily think this is a bad thing. After listening to so much strictly IDM stuff, it's nice to have an album like this. I think the thing about them that does it for me are the synth sounds they use for atmospherics, cool bass sounds, and Emerson's vocals. I particularly like Cups, Jumbo, Push Downstairs, Something like a Mama, and Moaner. I can't wait to hear the mixes of Jumbo especially. I spoke with a V2 representative the other day and he said that around the time of the US release, Tomato will be having listening parties for the cd along with their visuals. Too bad those bastards aren't coming anywhere near the south. -aj On Thu, 25 Mar 1999 17:37:09 -0800 "~\(\({\[Endemic~Distortion\]}\)\)~" <xxxxxxx@xxxxx.xxx> writes: >You prolly heard "Push Upstairs", but there's a track called "Push >Downstairs" as well.
