I have a bit of a different perspective on left hand controllers and =
controllers in general. I=E2=80=99m more from the =E2=80=9Cit=E2=80=99s =
all good=E2=80=9D school. Each different controller or controller =
layout brings different approaches and affects your interaction with the =
instrument in different ways. I approach the common dual wheels =
differently than the Nord pitch stick and wheel or the Korg joystick. =
Each adds its own nuance and sometimes challenges and should add to your =
own voice on the instrument. So, rather than dis a particular =
controller or layout, take it as a challenge to integrate it into your =
voice and approach to the instrument. We live in a time with many synth =
choices and I=E2=80=99m happy that manufacturers have not heavily =
standardized on things like left hand controllers. [In contrast, =
standardization is very good for communications and internal formats =
like MIDI and audio file formats.]
