Heres a strained analogy for you: the whole classic break thing is kinda like jazz standards. Identikit junglists slapping a predictable b-line over Amen is the idm equivalent of half a dozen old blokes in a pub playing Basin Street Blues: nothing you can't hear done better elsewhere. Someone like Mu-ziq (if they're up to scratch) is like Charlie Parker playing a standard, and doing stuff youve never heard in it before. Very strained, but quite nice.
