"flutter" is a beautiful song, but I can't imagine many other people actually liking it. I typically only listen to my music on headphones because I know it annoys my friends & roomates! > Well, the "Picture" buried in Lp5 has not yet revealed > itself to me, after several listens with a very open and informed > mind. Perhaps thier show on Saturday will change my opinion; > I've never seen them live. Sure hope they play some of thier older > stuff. This is a very good analogy, IMHO. And I also agree for the most part about LP5; but I would say give it a few more listens. Initially I thought it was very bad, because it was too much complex almost random Cichilisuite-style Autechre which I didn't care for.... my favorite Autechre stuff is on Anti, tri repetae++ and Envane. And they seemed to have veered away from that. BUT, after listening to LP5 more, it is warming up to me... so maybe I am starting to see the "Picture". I think there new music is just so much more complicated that its harder to understand or get a handle on... which is bad in some ways because maybe some people that understood their previous music won't understand this album, when they could deeply understand their previous work. So, I guess the bottom line is to have some more patience... Regards, -Aronne
