i recall somebody posting a general comment about hab recently, maybe also inquiring what else they might check out in that vein. although the psychology's a bit different, i recommend freeform's _elastic speakers_ (worm interface, 1995), which i'm beginning to think is one of the more overlooked records in the past couple of years in this genre. there's really only one track i don't like on this thing, and more than a few of 'em are absolutely gripping. melodic, slightly melancholic downtempo electro and experimental ambient, with sharp, original percussion and interesting, developed textures and melodies. (and yes, greg, too much reverb, but we'll let that one slide.) i slept on this record for more than two years...learn from my mistake. which reminds me: anyone know if vinyl was ever available for this? anybody wanna hook me up? thanks, sc onnow: whutchoo think?
