Do you know (or anyone else, for that matter) if Cygnus X or Virutal Symmetry released any other material other than Hypermetrical? I've not even heard of any LPs by Virtual Symmetry; I just know that "See You" is a brilliant track. You were completely correct about Hypermetrical: it is a seminal album of the decade and represents the highest quality out of the entire Eye-Q period. It was funny because I was thinking the same thing about the relationship between trance and the IDM list. I rarely listen to trance because of the same reasons many people list (i.e. repetitive, hoky global music samples, predictable, etc.) However...Eye-Q was the pinnacle of the genre of trance and contained some true electronic talent (listen to the classical piano line of "Synfonica" by Brainchild on the fiveyearsofeye-qmusic comp.)Anyway, that's my two cents and BTW, the Autechre tracks mentioned (444, Nuane, Clipper) are definite piloerection material!
