(idm) out of context thought

Saw this on my idm digest and I've got to say that
anyone who was "raised on Hip hop/ rap/ electro"
and finds experimentation with the turntable to be complete shit
simply does'nt get it.

I'm not saying *necessarily* as an employee of Asphodel who are proud
to showcase Mix Master Mike. It's not that simple.

What's simple is this.as I believe it's mlt who below commented similarly:

These people were'nt "raised on Hip Hop".

Period. Straight up.End of discussion.

Hip Hop, with the dj at it's center, will evolve in so many ways, but even
if you think that turntablism is shit ( which, of course, is an aesthetic/taste
based right ) the dj and his/her turntable workings, will remain in the
nucleus.

Educate yourself. Please.

>(I work with a number of people who were raised on hip-hop/rap/electro
>and they find the experimentation with the turntable to be complete shit...
>oh well...)

then:
>>
IMHO, people who don't consider the turntable as intricate a part of hip
hop as the MC, weren't really 'raised on hip hop'.
