any thoughts on this one??
i know it sounds like a VERY cool concept... but it is still just a
concept, so is it worth 60 bucks??
do all the 'songs' sound alike?? would it fall into the same catagory as
the Nota infinity release on rastermusic??IBS (intelligent background
sound), as i called it in the review.... i still can't decide if i wan't
to shell out sixty smackers.. i mean that's 6 12"s.

maybe one of you'd be able to put some real audio up??
(is there any at the irdial site?? sorry i didn't check yet... so shoot
me)

Well I have this, and it is *very fucking weird*, and spooky. It's just
people saying numbers, in different langauges, over and over again, for
hours. Also there are bars from certain songs (which sound classical in
origin) that repeat ad nauseum. Very nerve racking and intense, but if
you're into weirdo conceptual shit, I would get it. It would be great for
sampling, but it explicitly says do not sample this stuff.

The booklet, which details the history of these recordings, which I guess
still go on today, is very interesting.

Has anyone on this list listened to a short wave radio? I wonder if you
would hear similar transmissions. As a matter of fact, after listening to
this stuff, I went out to Radio Shack and priced out short wave radios.
They are about $200, and would be great for sampling.
