Photek Essential Mix Tracklisting.

>Digital: Tex (Photek Prod.)
>Digital: Sub-Zero (Photek Prod.)
>Spirit: Prologue (Photek Prod.)
>Photek: Seven Samurai rmx (Photek Prod.)
>Peshay: Contemporary Acoustic Jazz (Mo'Wax)
>Peshay: Miles from Home (Mo'Wax)

Wow, that Peshay album really looks like it will be one to watch next
year. "400 Miles From Home" is a killer, and the other tracks I've heard
are excellent too. Proper jazzy drum and bass. Anyone got the full
lowdown on when it is coming out?

>Digital: Lower Depths (Photek Prod.)
>Photek: Water Margin rmx (Photek Prod.)
>Optical: remix of NOHA's "start" (Groove Attack)
>Peshay: Switch (Mo'Wax)
>Hidden Agenda: Big Lamp (Metalheadz)

This one's from the Metalheadz boxed set, and is a really nice
disco/electro style track. Excellent stuff. The tracks on the boxed set
are all over the place but theres some great stuff on there, IMO.
Whether it's worth 35 quid or not, I dunno. Probably not, but it was
Christmas!

>Photek: Neptune (Metalheadz)

This is also from the boxed set. A downtempo thing which doesn't do very
much, but is a really nice little groove. The boxed set has it labelled
wrongly as Dillinja's "Warrior Jazz", BTW.

>Photek: Yendi (Science) **(this is the b-side to Photek's new "Modus
                           Operandi 12" on Science)

>Goldie: Mother (ffrr)

I heard this one. Even at 15 minutes or however long it lasted, it went
on far too long. I'd die hearing the ludicrous 60 min version. Lots of
strings and an antiqued break along with Goldie wailing
"Moooottthheerr!" all over the top. Bloody horrible and surely
commericial suicide (although if people are told it is cool enough times
it no doubt will be). Most of the Photek stuff on the Essential Mix
would seem to be forthcoming on that album of remixed highlights from
the Photek label, which looks like it will be pretty decent...

>btw, Groove and Fab look to have a new residency starting at radio 1 on
>Jan.3rd, during the typical one in the jungle timeslot.

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhooooooooooooooooooooooo!

But one question? Are we talking the typical timeslot as it is now, or
the timeslot as it used to be (Fri 10-12pm)?
