Good question. Last time I repaired a TR-808, I noticed that the flex cable could = easily be manufactured today fairly cheaply. The only problem is that it = would take someone=E2=80=99s time to measure and recreate something that = would match, and then pick the right fabrication house to get a decent = price. There are a lot of flex circuit fab houses, and each one has = great prices on certain kinds of flex circuits (but sometimes horrible = prices on other kinds). I=E2=80=99m designing PCB layouts all the time, = sometimes including flex cables, but it=E2=80=99s still a matter of = finding the time for an 808-specific project like this. Hopefully, someone out there has taken the time and could share the = Gerbers. It=E2=80=99s really as easy as beginner layout, provided = you=E2=80=99re willing to carefully measure while drawing it up. After = that, getting quotes from a few places should be straightforward. Good luck, and let us know if you find anything out there.
