Being from that area of Michigan, and having on numerous occassions scene the infomaous New Dance Show, I'd say you were probably hearing some hybrid type Miami Bass/Electro stuff. I would take Booty to mean electro type aggressive 808 breaks with explicit sexual samples or vocals over the top.
