re: konrad becker/monoton monoton 07 is excellent. the insert in the lp mentions the other 6 releases. a graphic, a video, two casettes, an lp and a 7". i have the 7" which is along the line of 07. can anyone comment or know how to locate the others? Konrad Becker also appears on the excellent compilation- Q.E.D. - where i was first introduced to his music. The track, "Mutation-Waltz" is that sort of bouncy-robotic metallic synth reverb sequence with Becker's monoton vocals and early lo-fi drum machine. The vocals truly put this stuff in a certain period/era, but the instrumental parts are truly under rated and have been overlooked for years and do stand the test of time. someone does a radio show or runs some sort of site under the monoton moniker, but i doubt any connection. Does anyone have any other info on this guy? Is he still active in music? I'll trade liberally for this stuff.... david *+* laerm wrote: > what's the story on this guy? i just picked up one of his releases, > _monotonprodukt07_, and it blew me away, especially considering it's from > 1981. kinda like DAF vs porter ricks, good stuff. thanks. > > * > #### > a disturbance in a system. #### > laerm. @voicenet.com ##:# > It turns out that an eerie type of chaos can lurk just behind a > facade of order - and yet, deep inside the chaos lurks an even > eerier type of order. - Douglas Hostadter > icq: 5562209 -- Atlantis Records Homepage new and rare vinyl new and out of print cds techno-industrial-kraut-electronic-jazz-indie lotus discography metabolist website http://www.AtlantisRecords.com e:mail: xxxxx@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.xxx
