saw the schematic boys at a little shindig in NYC last night at an interesting little apartment in midtown.. when I got there lloop was creating some thick ambience and throwing hip hop and d&b over it.. very chill. if you've seen _we_ you know what this sounds like.. next metic came on and if you've heard _matrix blaster_ or _sixto novotone_ you know the deal. real harsh tweaked beats, bleeps, and bloops. this stuff is raw. khan spun a nice house set, and the phoenecia/soul oddity came on and got robotic on my ass. to me, these guys sound like kraftwerk discovering hip hop. sick grooves and textures.. i recognized some _randa roomet_ trax. the other material they performed was incredible and i hope they release something else soon. i left after this so I did not get a chance to catch the jeswa live PA, but I did get a chance to speak to Josh Kay and tell him of his importance in American electronic music. he was very pleased and an extremely nice guy. -mc
