Not that I really want to be a part of discussion but just to clear things up. When played on the radio artists DO get money for it. At least if they're connected to an association (like STIM in scandinavia) - which most bands/artists are. Even unsigned band like Plod for example. That's part of the income you have with making music. I've heard the latest Plod CD is available on that Hotline server as well (not that I ever do MP3 downloads, but so I've heard - anyone correct me if I'm wrong), which is cool with me I think since we still own the copyright to all of those tracks and with the fact that the CD was only made in 100 copies. If we, however, release those same tracks on a widely available 12" or CD I don't think I'd dig it as much. Since everyone can get a hold of a CD burner and easily make their own copy of it.
