does anyone know of a mix of a david holmes track by arab strap - off '=

scottish geezer telling a story over the top, with lush strings coming =

i *think* its arab strap - anyone know on what, and when, it came out?

the arab strap mix is of "don't die just yet", it was originally releas=
ed
as a 1 sided ltd ( 5-or-700 ? ) 7" and appeared on a 12" promo - don't
think its on the 12" 'proper'. there's a uk 2 cd single release and thi=
s
mix is on cd1 - i don't have it (yet) but from what i've heard they are=
 the
better (tho' non-idm, more "indie") mixes, w/ cd2 having the weaker one=
s ,
see below fwd from the swordsmen list which appeared about a week ago.

-btw-
i was a bit off-hand about the "let's get killed" lp when it 1st came o=

but recently i can't stop playing the damn thing. i could lose the jame=

bond theme tho'

They're all on CD for =A31.99 (at least in Peterborough) each.
CD1 ('digipack'): 1.Radio edit, 2.Don't chant just yet, 3.The Holiday G=
irl
(Don't die just yet), 4.Delakota mix, 5.Mogwai mix, CD2 (jewel case):
1.album version, 2.max404's Optimystic Disco Dub, 3.La Funk Mob mix.
Agreed, tyhe max 404 and La Funk Mob mixes aren't brilliant, just OK, b=

then I've never thought that the album version was that hot either (muc=

prefer Portishead's take on the same track on their Massive Attack remi=

and the same goes fro Don't Chant... (just an alternative take on the a=
lbum
version). But the other mixes are much better. The Holiday Girl (remix =
by
Arab strap) is my favourite, even if it is really just their own song u=
sing
a couple of samples from Don't Die.... The Delakota mix is top moody st=
uff
(well they're all rather moody actually) with really neat spoken sample=
s.
The Mogwai mix is good too, in a 'not dance music at all' kind of way.
